😩 day 27 of 31 — i spoke too soon!

I thought at Day 22 I was on the home stretch… but I’ve come to a rather crashing halt — both physically and with my fundraising efforts for Fred’s Big Run in support of The Fred Hollows Foundation. It’s amazing how quickly your health can put the brakes on your best intentions. My family and I have been hit with the flu this week, and I’ve been lucky to manage a few hundred incidental steps, let alone purposeful ones for this challenge. With just 4 days left, it’s looking unlikely that I’ll be able to knock over the remaining 25km, even with a miraculous recovery. And honestly, I’m disappointed. I really wanted to cross that 100km finish line within the 31 days. Coincidentally, I had a call today with Bronte, our Relationship Manager at The Fred Hollows Foundation, regarding our TechnologyOne partnership. I mentioned that I may need to extend my challenge by a week to give myself the best chance of reaching my goal — and she agreed that was both sensible and doable. So, that’s the plan. ❤️ I might not finish exactly when I intended, but I will see this through. I just need to make sure I don’t compromise my health further in the process. My current progress: 🎯 75km / 100km walked 🎯 $548 / $1,000 raised 👀 21 / 40 people helped towards restoring sight If you’d still like to support me and The Fred Hollows Foundation, I promise I’ll keep putting one foot in front of the other until I get there. 👣 Every donation helps restore sight and gives someone the opportunity to see the world more clearly.

🥾🌄 day 1

Today, Saturday 1 August, marks the start of Fred’s Big Run in support of The Fred Hollows Foundation, helping restore sight to people who are needlessly blind. Chris A. Barquero and I have both signed up for this challenge. My goal is to walk 100km throughout August, after this morning’s hike, I’m 3km down with 97km to go! 💪 Thanks to the generosity of family and friends, I’ve already raised $200 - enough to help restore sight for up to 8 people. The clouds kept the sunrise hidden this morning, but we knew it was there. And even without the sun making an appearance, nature still delivered plenty. 🌥️ Just $25 can help restore someone’s sight. If you’re able, I’d appreciate your support as I take on this challenge and help change more lives. And, best part, TechnologyOne Foundation will match our team's fundraising efforts up to $5k!

👟🌊 day 2 redcliffe to scarborough

This morning the weather held out just long enough for Pola and me to complete a 7km walk along the Redcliffe waterfront to Scarborough and back and then finished the morning wandering through the Redcliffe Sunday Markets with a coffee and mini quiche before the light showers arrived. This month I’ve joined more than 4,500 Australians taking part in #FredsBigRun to help restore sight and continue Fred’s incredible legacy. I’ve chosen to walk 100km throughout August, with every purposeful walk helping raise awareness and funds for this life-changing cause. Day 2 current progress: 🎯 10km / 100km walked 🎯 $278 / $1,000 raised 👀 11/40 - Helping restore sight to people with needless blindness As someone who now depends on glasses for both short and long distances, I know how unsettling it is when the world becomes a blur without them. We’re incredibly fortunate to have access to quality eye care in Australia, but millions of people around the world aren’t as lucky. For as little as $25, you can help restore sight to someone who is needlessly blind. Every donation, no matter the size, brings someone closer to seeing again. You can help by donating via my fundraising page here👇 https://www.fredsbigrun.org/fundraisers/lyndainglis Thank you to those who have already supported me to help change lives, one step and donation at a time. 🧡

I’m stepping up to restore sight!

I’m taking on Fred’s Big Run this August to STEP UP TO RESTORE SIGHT! My goal is to raise funds for The Fred Hollows Foundation to continue the legacy of an Australian legend, Fred Hollows. Because right now, 9 out of 10 people who are blind don’t need to be... And an operation that costs as little as $25 can help restore sight to someone who is needlessly blind, and change their life forever! Please make a donation and support my challenge to give the gift of sight. Fred Hollows’ dream was to live in a world where no one was needlessly blind, please sponsor my challenge and let’s honour his memory together. Thank you for your support.
