Sprints

The first few runs have been a bit of a slog so I thought I should get to work on my fitness. After my 5km run today I added some fartlek training, 10 x 100m sprints and 100m walking (staggering).  Tough going but it is a sure-fire way to get faster and stronger! 21kms done, 129 to go.

First run - 10kms!!!

My running started a day late on the 2nd August with a 10km run - ouch (see photo). I had every intention of running 5kms every day in August and was about to put my sneakers on to smash out my first 5km when I got a surprise call from some old friends who were in town, but only for the arvo.. So, I just had to meet them for a cheeky bevvie at The Taphouse. I regret nothing! Life is too short to ignore calls like that. We had a fabulous catch up and I paid my penance by running 10kms on Sunday morning. So, now I'm all caught up and back on to 5kms a day..

I’m stepping up to restore sight!

I’m taking on Fred’s Big Run this August to STEP UP TO RESTORE SIGHT! My goal is to raise funds for The Fred Hollows Foundation to continue the legacy of an Australian legend, Fred Hollows. Because right now, 9 out of 10 people who are blind don’t need to be... And an operation that costs as little as $25 can help restore sight to someone who is needlessly blind, and change their life forever!
